THANKSGIVING 2016

As 2016 comes to a near end, I celebrated Thanksgiving Day with what I cherish and love most in my life. My Family. Every year I am thankful for the amazing family that I was born into and specially to be daughter of amazing parents who give anything to see a smile on my face and to be able to have siblings and nieces/nephews that i care so deeply and am so madly in love with being their aunt.

This year has given me a lot to be thankful for, However, apart from being thankful for the wonderful, loving, crazy, humble, vivid family I have; I am most thankful for spending Thanksgiving 2016 with the best present that my family has gotten this year. Naomi Rose. I can speak for everyone in my family when I say how thankful we are that she is with us. 8 Months of her wonderful, sweet, gentle eyes, touches, and giggles. If you follow me on my personal social media platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat many may see how in love and deeply obsessed i am with my baby niece. Many, However, don't know that Naomi Rose was born as a Preemie or i should really say Miracle Baby on March 25th, 2016 at 1:35 pm weighing 2 lb and 11 oz. 62 days in the NICU starting from that day and my sister being hospitalized several times before giving birth due to her not having a cervix. Naomi Rose was born a healthy baby not having to need oxygen or surgeries (miracle baby!!!) 62 nights in the nicu where i practically lived with my sister and tried to console her and enjoyed watching my niece through the incubator and watched her grow from the size of my hand to finally taking her home because she was ready! This is why i hold such deep love and adoration towards my niece. We are all so thankful that she is with us and that we have gotten the opportunities to create such wonderful memories with her in such a short amount of time.

Naomi Rose brings the best in all of us and we couldnt be more happier to be part of her life. She melts our hearts and makes us laugh, she pulls our hairs with the most gentle hands hehehe, she has the sweetest blue-greyish eyes you could ever imagine and above all she is a our bundle of joy!

WE ARE SO THANKFUL FOR HER AND THIS WAS HER FIRST THANKSGIVING!!!

WE SPENT IT LIKE THIS!

For food, we kept it somewhat traditional. Traditional in the aspect of including a turkey, mash potatoes, mac & cheese and all that gobble day essentials. However, being Venezuelan we always incorporate many of our dishes. Including a cold salad, meat loaf, rice with lentils, and much more.

Being that it was Naomi's first thanksgiving we spent it in my sisters house. This year my sister and I were inspired to create a white Thanksgiving with rustic vibes. So, we incorporated pumpkins, rustic dinner table, a variety of greenery on the table and above all a very chic dinner setup that was clean yet elegant for the dinner. All of the decorations were purchased at Pier One, Target or Michael's.

We started our family time early in the morning. Where we headed to Vicky's house and started cooking and spent time with what we are all thankful for, our Naomi Rose, who clearly has been enjoying devouring or trying to eat her pacifier because she is teething lol.

Thanksgiving is a day in which the more the food the better hehehe and my family made sure of that. Although I can't cook at all, my family cooked so many delicious plates that I was definitely in a food coma. These are just a few of the dishes that i got to capture with my camera but other dishes included, mac and cheese, rice with lentils, cornbread, and more.

My favorite thing about this Thanksgiving apart from having my miracle baby niece was definitely how intimate it was. We decided it was best for Naomi to experience her first Thanksgiving with her close family as to having invited many of our friends. It was truly beautiful, both my dad and Manuel (Vicky's Fiance/Naomi's Dad) gave beautiful speeches on the poeple and things we are most thankful where many tears were shed but of course tears of joy for being together and having a strong bond.

This year we decided to have a very rustic, natural, organic decor. We incorporated squirrels, nuts, greenery, white twinkle lights and candles with marble accents for the centerpieces. We included a pop of color on the table seats labels where we placed each of our names on this blush pink floral pattern with other neutral colors that although were very light gave it a pop of color/pattern to out table setting. As for the plate setting we used gold fluted chargers, porcelain white plates (not pictured), and as for utensils we used real silverware in which we decorated with rustic feels; wrapping them in gold satin fabric with a burlap ribbon.

It was an unforgettable family thanksgiving dinner. I wouldnt change one thing about about it. Thanksgiving for me is a more subtle outfit, which is why i wore Narcisco Rodriguez Taffeta Pants with a mauve bodysuit from Forever 21, I paired it with a handmade choker from Venezuela. For makeup i used Makeup Forever HD foundation, i used a Rose Gold eye shadow for the center of my lid, I used a matte sand brown for my crease, prior to all of that i primed my eyelid and i used a skin color eyeshadow. When i applied my rose gold shadow I sprayed my brush with my Makeup Forever Mix and Fix spray so the rose gold will be more pigmented and brighter... I wanted a very plum/rose gold look. I used black eyeliner on the top and the bottom and black mascara.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I hope you all spent a wonderful time with your family and friends.
